Alice Wasden Jones Carr

Savannah- Alice Carr died peacefully Saturday, May 5, after a long illness.
She was born on April 27, 1927, to Wiley Anderson Wasden and Katherine Carr Wasden and grew up in Millen, GA. She attended Shorter College and was graduated from Wesleyan College in Macon. Following graduation from college, she moved to Savannah and worked for WTOC Radio, where she hosted a radio program. In 1951 she married Donald K. Jones, and they had five daughters. Following the death of her first husband in 1997, she married James E. Carr in 1997.Mrs. Carr was predeceased by her daughter, Alice Wasden Jones.
Mrs. Carr is survived by her husband, James E. Carr; daughters, Katherine Jones Ratterree Clay of Savannah, Lisa Jones White of Nashville, Marion Jones Coulter Ray of Dallas, GA, and Edith Page Jones of Fort Lauderdale, FL; her brother, Wiley Anderson Wasden Judy; grandchildren, Joseph Duffie Ratterree III, Katherine Carr Ratterree, Christopher Kingsbury White and Eldredge Waters Tripp White III; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Carr was a communicant of Christ Church Episcopal. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 8, at Greenwich Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Carr residence following the service.
